McEwan Fraser Legal are delighted to have been awarded the silver award for best Scotland Estate Agency of the Year by The Sunday Times. This is the Fourth consecutive year McEwan Fraser Legal have won an award in this category, proving we continue to stride ahead of our competition.

This award is something we are incredibly proud of at McEwan Fraser Legal. To achieve Silver in marketing when competing against Estate Agents not just in Scotland, but across the whole of the UK is a tremendous achievement. We are pride ourselves on being recognised as an estate agency that “thinks differently” and we have based our award winning marketing strategy around this.

McEwan Fraser Legal are delighted to announce that they were shortlisted for not one, but two, awards at the Scottish Business Awards. We were contenders for CEO of the Year and Employer of the Year, competing against some of Scotland most successful companies including Skyscanner, BrewDog and Barrhead Travel. This award recognises Scotland’s outstanding employers which have created jobs and great working environments in which employees can thrive and achieve excellence.

The award ceremony itself took place on Thursday 12th November at the Edinburgh EICC. The impressive venue was filled with over 2100 attendees, the largest dinner in Scottish history, something we very much enjoyed being part of. Our table was positioned right in front of the stage meaning we had front row seats for Oscar-winning actor, director and humanitarian, George Clooney who was the keynote speaker, as well as Sir Chris Hoy and Chris Evans.

This annual award gathers together Scottish businesses from every sector to celebrate and share individual successes – great opportunity to not only complete with Scotland’s best, but also to networking with them!

The event of course was all in aid of charity and a staggering £500,000 was raised for charities including the Social Bite Fund and human rights organisation Not On Our Watch.

Although we did not win either award on the night we are still incredibly proud to have been shortlisted, and what a fantastic night!

McEwan Fraser Legal company has been named as 'Scotland Agency of the Year' at The Negotiator Awards. The Negotiator Awards are considered to be one of the most prestigious in the sector and are often referred to as the industry's equivalent of the Oscars. The award was collected by associate director Bill Corbett during a ceremony at The London Hilton on Park Lane attended by 730 and which was hosted by impressionist, comedian and actor Alistair McGowan. We feel incredibly proud of this award as it recognises the efforts made daily by all the staff as we strive to provide a superb customer service to all our clients.

McEwan Fraser Legal are delighted to announce that at the Herald Property Awards 2015, we won the Residential Team of the Year, for the second year running! The event was held at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow, attended by leading professionals in the industry. It is one of Scotland's most prestigious property event s which celebrates excellence in the sector.

The win was described by an event sponsor as a "massive achievement". He said the firm had overcome "stiff competition and very able competitors" to lift the prize for the second year running.

We are incredibly proud to have been accredited with the 'Investors in People' Award and the 'Investors in Young People' Award.

We are delighted to announce our proud win at the Scott+Co Scottish Legal Awards where the distinguished panel of 12 judges, all independent experts from business, law and politics voted us as outright winners for the Millar & Bryce Innovation Award. We were presented the award at a sell-out ceremony at the Edinburgh Assembly Rooms on the 20th of March, celebrating our recognition for innovation.

Providing Modern Apprenticeships and SVQ qualifications to staff members allows for on-the-job training to be carried out within the firm. This enhances the high levels of customer service that McEwan Fraser Legal strives to provide and encourages continual training. Junior members of the team in administrative roles are able to develop their customer service skills, the use of our I.T. system and office equipment which gives them the experience to move onto the next qualification level and promotion within the firm.

Philip Stewart, one of our professional photographers, does it again. He has been put onto the shortlist and final judging in the Take a view, the Landscape Photographer of the Year Award competition. With not only one entry but two being shortlisted.

Philip Stanley Dickson was one of only four nominees for the Scottish Fashion photographer of the Year at the prestigious Scottish Fashion Awards in Glasgow recently. Recognised for his many publications in Spectrum and The Pulse magazine, Philip photographed 14 fashion shoots throughout the year. The locations were as diverse as a freezing cold warehouse; on a canal boat; a farm; Jupiter Artland and an Edinburgh rooftop, to name but a few. The event in Glasgow was attended by a glittering array of stars, models and designers and is the biggest night of Scotland's fashion calendar.

McEwan Fraser Legal have been nominated as finalists for Marketing and Social Media Support Team of the Year by the Law Awards of Scotland 2012. The 2012 awards ceremony will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow on September 13th.

Launching the Awards, Minister for Learning and Skills Alasdair Allan said: "Every young person deserves the best chance and the right choice for them. A modern apprenticeship today is very different to the modern apprenticeship of the past. It is just one of the many routes for 16 to 25 year olds to continue their learning and skills development to prepare themselves for the industries of the future.

"These awards recognise the impact that the Modern Apprenticeship programme has, both on the life chances of the individual apprentice and the positive contribution to their employer and the wider economy. I am therefore delighted to launch these awards and look forward to hearing all about the contenders in the weeks and months ahead."

The Awards celebrate the significant contribution apprentices, employers and partners have made to the development of the Modern Apprenticeship programme and Scotland's economy.

One such company is Edinburgh legal property firm McEwan Fraser who took on two apprentices in 2010 and recently took on two more. Practice manager Karen Dodds is clear about the benefits the apprentices have brought their fast-growing business. "We have invested in them and their training and are delighted with their contribution to our company." she said.

Karen urged more employers to open their doors to people and offer apprenticeships. "We did and we have been delighted with the hard work and commitment of this group of apprentices," she said.

The 2011 Award categories have been revised to reflect the changing face of apprenticeships and now include young construction and production apprentice of the year, young service apprentice of the year, adult apprentice of the year, and advanced apprentice of the year.

Employer awards include categories for businesses with fewer than 50 workers, for companies with up to 250 and over 250 employees. There is a partnership award for groups who can show their commitment to apprentices.

A new Best Business Newcomer award will be given to a company - from any sector - which has shown a commitment to Modern Apprentice training.

The Awards ceremony is planned for Wednesday 7 December at Glasgow Science Centre.

Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) is a charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people with
life-shortening conditions.

CHAS offers care in two children’s hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch. The hospices support the whole family by offering short planned breaks, emergency support, end of life care and a range of bereavement services.

CHAS also provides a home care service, called CHAS at Home, staffed from both hospices and with dedicated teams based in Aberdeen and Inverness. The service offers care to families in their own homes when they need it most.

CHAS supports over 300 families, as well as a significant number of families who receive bereavement support. The services are funded mainly through the generosity of the many supporters who help raise £9 million needed each year to provide these vital hospice services.

Following their recent showjumping success at Kingsbarn Equestrian Centre, St.Columba's is delighted to have been sponsored by MFL.

The competition, in which the team finished an impressive second, was a qualifier for the NSEA Championships, held each winter at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckinghamshire.

The qualified team consisted of the captain Jessica Lee, Niamh Allen, Molly Bower and Olivia Finch. These girls in addition to the other competitors (Emma Findley, Kirsten Findley, Amy Gillespie and Anna Galloway) who have all represented St.Columba's, received personalised hoodies from Darren Lee (Regional Manager) from MFL. These will be worn to ALL school competitions and training sessions, which are held regularly at Ingliston Equestrian Centre in Bishopton, Renfrewshire.

The NSEA (National Schools Equestrian Association) championships are a prestigious event that all British schools are eligible for. The event at Kingsbarn was the only Scottish qualifier, meaning competitors travelled from all over the country, clearly demonstrating the ability of the school team.
