Nestled in beautiful countryside, the charming village of Kettins lies between the township of Coupar Angus and the village of Newtyle and as such is therefore set in rural location away from the hustle and bustle of the city, however still within close reach of amenities. Renowned as the oldest village in Scotland, Kettins has an ancient churchyard standing central to the village which incorporates the Maria Troon – a 16th Century Flemish Bell, a Pictish Standing Stone and an old Coach-Inn. Set within the heart of Strathmore country, the area is surrounded by lush, fertile land bound by the Sidlaw Hills in the South and Angus Glens to the North. The village also has its own primary school. In Newtyle, nearby, the thriving community has a very pretty church, primary school, library and local shops including an award winning butcher. Coupar Angus is a slightly larger township, offering a range of shopping and services. The area is characterised by a strong community spirit with an active Rural Partnership working with the local estates to ensure that it is well served with local health care, a library and bus links. The Perthshire area itself offers out standing scenery, close to the A9 trunk road and the many beautiful towns and villages in the surrounding area such as Blairgowrie – a popular holiday destination, Meigle, Forfar and Kirriemuir, all with their particular attractions. The City of Perth itself is situated less than 20 miles a way, whilst Dundee City Centre with all i ts diversities is approximately 12 miles away from the property and within easy commuting distance. Major trunk roads are easily accessible carrying traffic to Edinburgh in the South and A berdeen in the North. Both airports (Edinburgh and Aberdeen) are within a one hour drive. There is also a mainline railway link at Dundee and a small airport with links to London.
